Deathloop has finally made its way to Xbox Series X | S and Xbox Game Pass and Arkane released some new content on all game platforms to celebrate. The Goldenloop update Adds a new weapon, a new boss, a new board, and an extended ending. All the new content is designed to make your journey through the Deathloop a little easier, so here you can find all the new items added as part of the Goldenloop update.

Halps Weapon Prototype

The Halps Model is a powerful laser pistol.

The biggest release in the Goldenloop update is the addition of Halps Prototype, a new extremely powerful laser pistol with a high ammo capacity. Halps’ prototype can be found at The Compound in Dr.’s lab. Wenjie. Halps is tucked away in the corner of the green building. You can either use the weapon itself to destroy and capture its container or return at night when Dr. Wenji takes the weapon out of its case. This powerful weapon can incinerate most enemies, including dreamers, in an instant. Check out GameSpot’s Halps Weapon Prototype Manual For a more detailed explanation of how to obtain the weapon.

fugue board

Fugue Slab can be picked up from the pool at Karl's Bay.
Fugue Slab can be picked up from the pool at Karl’s Bay.

Fugue Slab can be obtained by defeating the Karl’s Bay Garbage Collector. Head to the bay in the afternoon and head to the cliff side near where you entered the map, on your right side after exiting the tunnels. You should see a pool of water with a jet on the right side. In this area there is a tunnel that leads to the garbage compression area. Here you can find the garbage collector, who has Frank’s board, the fugue board.

Now, the complex is an incredibly powerful enemy. He’s decked out in white armor that’s either completely bulletproof or makes him truly bulletproof. After emptying all my ammo and grenades into it, it was still quite unstable. While that, Use stealth to take down the complex. It’s hidden in a back room that you’ll need to unlock either by firing a button through a crack in the wall or by opening a door with a mine attached to it. Either way, the pool will be alerted to your presence, so you’ll need to let it come and go, or use a stealth board to sneak in. It can be taken down in one shot by sneaking and stabbing it. Killing him awards the Fugue Slab, which causes enemies to get sick.

ornament machine

Another addition is the Trinket Machine, which creates various high-end trinkets, including rare orange trinkets. This means that you can get a powerful upgrade for yourself very early in the game, as long as you know where to look.

Head to Karl’s Bay in the morning and exit the tunnels via the left lane. Head outside and you’ll see a red building that reads “Forever guy drunk. Head inside the building and there will be a voice recorder on the right side of the first floor detailing some immortals doing a science experiment here in the afternoon.

Head back to Karl’s Bay in the afternoon and come back to the same building. There will be an eternal couple there and a Trinket machine will be on the premises. There is a table-mounted Residuum combine harvester next to the machine. You have to take this and fill it into the two discs. An in-game note says that the more Residuum a device has, the better the rewards, so you might want to fill it all up, but making two harvests resulted in rare orange trinkets and one purple. You can either run and find enough objects with the Residuum or you can interact with the other device on the left, next to the whiteboard. This eternal machine summons from various episodes full of relics. Activation will spawn these special enemies for four minutes and their locations will be indicated by beams of light shooting up into the sky.

Once you’ve collected enough leftovers, go back to the machine and load the harvester. Now, once the machine becomes active, it will alert all the nearby immortals and they will attack you. There is a tower in the basement of this building that you can hack and set up, but be prepared for a fight. Once the machine has finished its work, you will get many high quality trinkets.

Masquerade Promotions

The Masquerade Slab, Juliana’s ability to use in Conquest mode, now has its own upgrade options. You can get these upgrades by playing Conquest mode as Juliana and take down the Colt successfully.

Promotions are:

  • Collection: target up to three NPCs with a costume party
  • Mend: Regenerate health while using Masquerade on NPC
  • Reveal: When a NPC affected by Masquerade or Colt dies, Colt is automatically flagged
  • Incognito Mode: The damage done while using Masquerade is converted to energy

Goldenloop adds a new set of enemies and a boss-type enemy to the Deathloop. The main enemy is the garbage collector, the Fugue Slab ranger, which can be found in Karl’s Bay in the afternoon. The new enemy type is the Eternal Paint Launcher. As the name suggests, these immortals are running around with paint bombs strapped to them. If they detect you, they will activate the bombs and start chasing you. If you take them down before they activate their bombs, you can pick up paint bombs and throw them at the enemies.
