In February 2022, Rockstar Games announced the upcoming game we’ve all been waiting for, GTA 6.
Fans have long been anticipating the latest game in the Grand Theft Auto series, as the latest installment in the series dates back nearly a decade.
Thanks to the official leaks and announcements, there are a few things we already know about the game, and there are big changes for longtime GTA fans.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming GTA 6.
When will GTA 6 be released?
No official release date has been set for GTA 6, but the team said that the game is about three years in development.
Rockstar said it will reveal more information soon which could include an ambiguous seasonal release date.
Rockstar has confirmed that the latest leaks will not delay the release of GTA 6.
By looking at previous versions and how far along the game is, we expect the closest possible release to be around 2024 holiday a period.
Some even suggested we won’t even see the game 2026which is another possibility.
What is the setting for GTA 6?
Rockstar hasn’t officially revealed the setup for GTA 6, but rumors started circulating after publisher Take Two started removing popular mods for one map.

Take Two started issuing takedown notices for these maps this year, leading people to believe that Rockstar was creating something in this setting.
In September, a hacker managed it Illegally download nearly a hundred early clips from the game.
These videos, which have been confirmed to be real, support the rumors, suggesting that the game will take place in the fictional Rockstar version of Miami.
However, while 2002’s Vice City took place in the 1980s, GTA 6 feels more like modern day.
Other locations were shown as well, including a swamp and some familiar locations such as the Malibu Club and Ocean View Hotel.
Does GTA 6 have a female heroine?
Rumors about this have been around ever since Rockstar announced that GTA 6 is in development.
Leaks indicated that the upcoming game will feature two double heroes – a man and a woman – in a modern game Bonnie and Clyde.
The footage appears to confirm this. The game seems to have dual characters called Lucia and Jason. We saw both characters in the footage.
Bonnie and Clyde are also mentioned in the records, which makes it seem like they’re the two that the duo depends on.
The leaks showed that the husband steals a dinner and detains the cashier in the manner of a true criminal couple.
What weapons are available in GTA 6?
At the moment, the combat looks similar to GTA 5, but since it is still in early development, it is likely that Rockstar will enhance the arsenal.
Melee weapons like putter, crowbar and baseball bat are back.
An assault rifle, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a rocket launcher and a pistol were also seen in the leaked footage.
Some believe that there may be a dual use in the upcoming game, as Lucia can be seen holding a weapon in both hands, which will be a first in the series.
It also appears that weapons such as long guns and pistols will be visible on the player character, similar to the weapon systems in Red Dead Redemption 2.
There may also be health packs that can be kept, allowing players to heal or improve themselves in the middle of combat.
We also saw a player leaning out of the car and shooting from all angles.
Will GTA 6 have character customization?
Although full character customization hasn’t been implemented yet, there seem to be ways you can change your character.
Throughout the footage, Lucia appeared in different clothes and different hairstyles, which made her seem like mutable options for the players.
competitor Saints row It’s known for its deep character customization, but it doesn’t look like Rockstar will take the path of creating your own character with the new game.
What does humor look like in GTA 6?
Rockstar has claimed that it will move away from some of the more fanatical language and jokes that have appeared in GTA in the past.
While the leaks haven’t confirmed this, we’ve seen a different kind of humor compared to previous titles.
There was a lot of reference humor, with plenty of Easter eggs available for longtime fans of the series.
We’ve also seen the parody on Facebook, complete with its own Weird Valley version of Mark Zuckerberg.
