breaking news – Splatoon 3 It still inked all over the charts in Japan (and everywhere, really!). After last week’s bumper sales, Japanese charts Famitsu revealed this week that despite the expected drop in sales, the third slug-based shooter still manages to convert an incredible 506,610 PMU. This means that actual sales of Splatoon 3 have already reached 2.5 million copies.

The other big news is Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes is offlinerelease. This offline version of the Japan-exclusive MMORPG has sold nearly three times as many copies on the Switch as it does on PlayStation 4 or 5 — but all three releases make up three of the week’s top five best-selling games. Dragon Quest is a big deal in Japan, so we’re not surprised at all, but we had to smile when we saw Stands 2, 3 and 4 were all Dragon Quest. Looks like only inks and octol can keep the dragon away!

Another new Japanese release this week is Trinity triggerFuRyu’s co-op RPG which is set to be released in the West early next year. The game debuted at number seven with 6,698 units sold, which isn’t too bad for a brand new IP. But unlike the other two versions of Dragon Quest X, it’s a Switch-dominated roster!

Here are the top ten for the week of September 12-18, 2022:

OLED is still selling bands, with 96,889 units changed this week, while the standard model sold a good 25,683 units. People need their own Splatoon 3 machines!
