How does the gear work in Splatoon 3
All gear contains main power slot And up to three Sub slots. the above star power A piece of gear with a larger number of sub-holes. Each star that the gear has after its second star will increase the amount of XP you get.
You can play games Grass war or Chaos battle To earn XP on your gear, and doing so gives it random new abilities (if it has space) or ability parts. You can use Ability Chunks to select the specific abilities you want to put on your gear to avoid the random element.
Depending on the brand of equipment, certain abilities will appear on it more often, and others will appear less often. We put these below.

How to upgrade gear and use ability parts
Murch, the sea urchin located just off the lobby, offers a range of important services. It will scrub all sub-abilities from your gear and give you an ability piece for each ability for 20,000 gold. If you give it Super snailYou can also increase the power of your equipment star, or recycle the sub-spacers to their full capacity.
Notably, it can also use ability parts to assign certain abilities to your equipment. It costs 45 ability pieces to set the main ability and 10 ability pieces to set the first sub ability to a piece of gear. However, if you want to place multiple instances of the same ability on one piece of gear, the cost of the ability set will go up to 20 for two of the same ability and 30 for three. (For example, if you wanted three swimming acceleration On my shoes, it would cost me a total of 60 swimming pool acceleration ability pieces.)
You can also boost your star power if you buy duplicates of the same gear in regular stores. However, this becomes expensive, as each upgrade will cost more money. You can also reset abilities on gear by exchanging your abilities in the shop, but you won’t get any ability parts from this.
How to grow parts ability quickly
There are two great ways to breed ability parts: salmon running And the splatfest.
Use running salmon to cut farm
Salmon Run will frequently reward you with random bonus capsules and one specific piece of gear. (As of writing this, the gear in question is Bream-Brim Cap.) You can only get one copy of the gear, so the other copy will be unlocked and you’ll get the Ability Fragments for abilities. Just spamming Salmon Run and chopping gear is an easy way to quickly accumulate Ability Fragments.
Salmon Run’s reward counter resets every 40 hours, so you’ll have to earn about 1,200 points before you start getting gear only as a reward each time it resets.
Using Splatfests to Breed Loggers
The Splatfest tee (which you can get a week before any Splatfest) has three sub-slots and It only costs 2000 gold to clean it. Playing regular matches with an equipped Splatfest Tee is cheap and fast cutting ability.
To take it a step further, if you have a brew capacity for an ability that you want to cut to, use that. (You can get specialty drinks from progressive shell machine randomly.)
If you use a drink with an ability, your equipment will roll that ability at a higher rate. Players using this strategy recommend purifying your Splatfest Tee after it gets its first ability on minimal brew use, since it’s only active for 20 matches.
What are the best abilities in Splatoon 3?
There is a mode that people use the most, such as Swim Speed Up and Ink Saver, but the exact abilities you put on your gear depend on your playing style and weapon selection.
If you love dashing and throwing bombs, Swim Speed Up, Ink Saver (Sub), and Ink Recovery Up are probably worth a watch on your gear. If you love shooting your own Tenta missiles, maybe the special power is your ability to teleport.
