Vectorworks, Inc. launched 2023 version of BIM and CAD production line

A new version of design-centric software is now available to augment designer workflows.

Columbia, MarylandAnd the September 14, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ – Global design and BIM software provider Victorworks, Inc. release Vectorworks 2023, which includes performance improvements and tools developed to give users more time to design. The 2023 edition includes Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Fundamentals, Braceworks, ConnectCAD, and Vision with the English language versions of these editions available today.

“We understand the importance and value of time, and we are excited to return some of this important resource to designers with Vectorworks 2023,” said Vectorworks’ Chief Technology Officer. Steve Johnson. “In our ongoing effort to empower our users to design without borders, our latest version features upgrades to essential tools that will reduce the need for manual labor. With the freedom to design anything with fewer steps, more automated processes and more ways to collaborate with others, users will be able to Increase the speed of workflow and increase their productivity.”

The Vectorworks 2023 product line features improvements focused on accelerated BIM workflow, interoperability, user experience improvements, BIM landscape and quality improvements focused on entertainment.

BIM
Data is vital when it comes to building information modeling, and Vectorworks 2023 makes it easy to access and manage, allowing designers to use data to their advantage in order to create more efficient and accurate models and documentation. Powerful data reporting plugins will simplify the process of generating detailed reports and quantitative build takeoffs
objects, allowing highly accurate reports of walls, panels, ceilings, railing/fence objects and their specific components. The capabilities of the data manager have expanded, making it more predictable and easier to use when creating and managing all types of data. Users can now search, filter and select multiple datasets, and copy and paste information, and apply it to other datasets. Vectorworks 2023 also provides more control over the creation and customization of data tags. Users can intuitively find and change data tag object associations, display different units for each instance as needed and select a scale for use in sheet or design layers.

“Data is a critical component of BIM or any kind of information modeling,” said Robina my friend, Director of Product Marketing at Vectorworks. “Making it more accessible and manageable means that designers can leverage and use data in a way that does not take their time and focus away from design.”

interoperability
Vectorworks continues to prioritize collaboration, constantly offering new and effective ways for users to work with fellow designers and consultants. The improvements in IFC’s import capabilities are just one of the many ways Vectorworks 2023 encourages more productive collaboration. Users will see an increase in performance when importing an IFC file and the ability to import from more applications. New options for filtering objects on import along with criteria-based category and story layout for alignment with the Vectorworks file organization provide greater control.

Vectorworks 2023 also releases a set of easy-to-use import/export improvements for the basic exchanges of DWG and DXF files. Users can now customize the items and layers that are exported in a file with a new, simplified export dialog. At the same time, when importing, it is easy to specify which layers and objects to include.

User Experience
With daily performance improvements focused on process automation and efficiencies, Vectorworks 2023 does the heavy lifting for you. Users can now simplify document workflows with improvements to section view windows. Leveraging the Vectorworks Graphics Module, these modules have a new ability to move computational and processing operations to the background, allowing for six times faster viewport updates while providing the ability to work on other tasks simultaneously.

Enhancements to cloud presentations provide more freedom for active subscription and service selection for users to create and customize their virtual boards and tours. Vectorworks Cloud Services. Virtual tours have added compatibility with different file types such as 3D models, PDFs, images, and more as well as Vectorworks cloud updates and a mobile 3D viewer, providing more powerful options for sharing designs and impressing customers.

With this latest release, designers will also experience infinite redshift. Vectorworks 2023 now takes full advantage of the Maxon Redshift Everywhere initiative, putting Redshift rendering patterns within reach of all customers, regardless of the type of hardware used, providing more rendering options for great visual representation.

BIM Landscaping
With improved visual and organizational capabilities and new tools to save time in grading plans and terrain modelling, Vectorworks continues to pave the way for making BIM adoption in landscape workflows simpler. Users can now also take advantage of Vectorworks GIS and georeferencing integration that makes file collaboration more straightforward by automatically placing reference files using GIS settings from a master document. In addition, new GIS settings and coordinates allow you to note your preferred method of entering the format to more accurately combine georeference data. Additionally, with Vectorworks Landmark 2023, designers can easily define and model a fence, mixed or single types, using the Hedgerow tool. Smoothly apply hedging to the surface of the site model in both 2D and 3D views, scaling in linear unit and simultaneously articulating at mature spread and height.

entertainment
With a focus on continuous improvement to provide tools for entertainment and lighting designers they can trust, version 2023 includes significant upgrades to allow for a more efficient and successful workflow. Fitting design and layout is easier than ever before in Vectorworks Spotlight 2023. Improved integration between lever and bridle objects allows for more consistent and manageable documentation, and two-legged bridle behaviors have been updated for consistency. Also, increased code-based cross-object control now will ease a large part of designers’ workflows.

Spotlight users will also have peace of mind with the improvements and improvements in the latest version. Updates to Dark View mode remove the eight-light limit that users previously encountered, providing more rendering support for textures, objects, and fog. These features allow users to quickly create and share design concepts and ensure higher quality delivery. Common workflow issues with lighting devices and worksheet functions have also been addressed to offer simplified drawing capabilities and more refined designs, leaving users more time to focus on the creative process.

The release of local language versions will start in October and end in the first quarter of 2023.
