Warning about a new iPhone feature that can harm battery life – turn it off if power is low

APPLE fans are urged to tread carefully when it comes to using one of the latest iPhone features.

According to Apple, haptic feedback on a device’s keyboard, which causes it to vibrate while typing, can harm battery life.

The most requested feature was introduced with the release of the iOS 16 software update on September 12th.

When enabled, the iPhone makes a slight vibration when you type a key.

However, in a recently published support document, Apple warned that the feature may affect your iPhone’s battery life.

In the document, the company explains what the feature does: “Your iPhone keyboard can beep or vibrate as you type.”

At the bottom of the page, it warns that the feature may affect how long your phone’s battery lasts.

Adding a touch keyboard might not look like much, but it makes typing more smooth and intuitive.

If you really master it, it can even allow you to type without even looking at your device.

“Turning on keyboard touches may affect your iPhone’s battery life,” Apple said.

The new feature is one of several introduced on Monday with the release of iOS 16The latest version of the iPhone operating system.

How to activate the iPhone touch keyboard

Before you can try the feature, you will first need to download iOS 16 by going to Settings > general > system update.

Touch keyboard feedback is turned off by default, so you’ll need to activate it – you guessed it – in your device’s settings.

How to get iOS 16

To try iOS 16 for yourself, you will need to update your iPhone software.

Head to Settings > General > Software Update.

You’ll be asked to enter your iPhone passcode (if it has one) and then agree to Apple’s terms and conditions.

The download and installation process will take up to an hour, so be sure to send any important messages before you get started.
